Bad loans to rise by Rs 1.3 lakh cr after SC’s nod for NPA tag

The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that it will not interfere in the classification of non-performing assets (NPAs) but directed lenders to waive interest on interest for all borrowers. Earlier, the government had reimbursed interest on interest dues to those who had loans outstanding below Rs 2 crore.
